A bucket list. Everyone’s got one, whether it be a documented/formal list or it’s a bunch of things in your mind that you want to tick off throughout the course of your life. There’s one thing that can be said about everyone’s bucket list though, and that is that there is almost certain a travel-related dream on it.

With so many places to see in the world, it’s pretty hard to narrow it down. We’ve attempted to narrow down some of the COOLEST EXPERIENCES from around the world- get ready for some weird, wonderful and sometimes scary experiences!

1. Real life Mario Kart in Japan

One of the coolest and most nostalgic experiences ever involves dressing up as your favourite Mario Kart character and living it all out in real life on the streets of Japan! Yep, you get to drive go-karts around the streets of Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka as if you’re in the Nintendo game itself! It’s become a popular experience and can get booked out quickly so make sure to book early! Prices are around $140 AUD for about 1.5-2hours!

Check out Street Kart Tokyo Bay or Tokyo Kart to start organising!

2. Skyline Luge in Queenstown, New Zealand

With some of the best views in the world, why not enjoy it while on a luge cart? Skyline Luge gets your heart pumping, adrenalin rushing and lets your inner kid run free with an INCREDIBLE backdrop! There’s 800m of ‘luging’ to do and the best part is that once you’ve done your round, you can hop onto a chairlift and do it again and again!
It’s fun FOR ALL.

4. Gelmer Funicular, Switzerland

It’s in it’s name, this experience is pure FUN! For the adrenalin junkie and nature lover alike, this this funicular is the steepest of its kind in Europe (106% inclination in some places!). Originally built to transport the heavy construction materials for the Gelmer dam, it is nowadays open for adventure-seeking hikers. Just like the Skyline Luge, the view is absolutely AMAZING.
Psst you can even bring your dog on it! See more here

5. Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia

Find yourself face to face with some of the worlds most incredible marine species both big and small. The Great Barrier Reef is an incredibly protected area of the world and it would be silly to miss this experience on your travels Down Under. There is no water as clear and marine species as colourful and vibrant. It’s definitely something that needs to be done SOON as there is a high chance that it won’t be here for much longer due to bleaching and climates changing.
