1. Skyscanner
Not only is Skyscanner one of the best websites to find the cheapest and best deals on flights, it’s a great app as well! You can filter to ‘choose by month’ and pick the cheapest flights within that month, if you can be flexible. You can even filter by the flights that are the fastest vs flights that are the cheapest. It’s easy to use and pretty accurate when it comes to finding the cheapest and best flights from airlines around the world. Top tip: can’t decide where to go? Click ‘everywhere’ as your flight destination and Skyscanner will show you the cheapest destinations from where you are.
2. Hostelworld
Hostelworld is probably the most trusty, easy to use and fool proof apps when it comes to booking, finding and planning where to stay. It doesn’t overprice accomodation and gives a great overview of all the places that are out there. Since there are A LOT of people on the app, you can be sure to have TONNES of reviews and recommendations on accomodation sites so that you can be sure that you’re booking into a good place. The payment is safe, you can track all the places you’ve stayed and it’s free!
3. Airbnb
If you’re not a hostel type of person Airbnb is probably your best bet. If you haven’t heard of it before, you might just be living under a rock! It’s got some of the best homely accomodation places to stay from all around the world for affordable prices! If you’re travelling with a bigger group, Airbnb is the way to go!
4. Travly
So we’ve got the flights and accomodation down pat, but did it really happen if there wasn’t a photo? Budgeting is one of the hardest things to get right when travelling, ESPECIALLY when in a group! Splitwise is an awesome app that allows everyone that you’re travelling with stay accountable for what they spent on the trip – this means you can avoid the awkward conversation of who owes who what! 6. Uber
Although each country has their own preferred taxi service, Uber is the most global so it’s probably the most useful to have on your phone, particularly when you first arrive in a country and don’t speak the language to be able to hail a taxi! It’s trustworthy, convenient and just a good back up to have!
