Packing for some is a stressful and effortful job. The anxiousness of forgetting something or not packing enough or packing too much can get to some. Some however, can comfortably pack the day of and be content with the effort they’ve put in. We’ve listed 10 things that we think that EVERY traveller should remember to pack (that’s not clothes and underwear).

1. A passport

Sure, you might not need it unless travelling overseas, but having your passport on hand in another country is always handy- it’s one of the most global and trusted ID documents!

2. Cash

The biggest mistake is going overseas or travelling without a single dollar of physical cash. Although the world is advancing and most developed and even developing countries accept some sort of card, having cash on hand is VERY handy to hail a taxi from the airport to your accomodation. Withdrawing cash from the airport ATMs might see you paying heaps of unnecessary fees.

3. Phone

In this day and age, most people, regardless of age, travel with their phones. Not only because it’s a way of communication but also because the cameras on phones these days are some of the best!

4. A day-pack

Even if you’re not backpacking, having a day-pack is something that almost all travellers should make sure to pack. The worst experience is having to carry your phone, hat, water bottle, pamphlets, lip stick, wallet etc with just your two hands. The easiest to pack are the cotton-based pull-string bags that can easily be folded and put into the suit-case!

5. A travel towel

Travel towels are one of those items that are severely underrated. Unless you are planning to stay at hotels throughout the whole of your travels, you’ll be needing to pack a towel. Towels, however, are so space-consuming and take forever to dry. Purchasing a micro-fibre travel towel will possibly change your whole travel experience.

6. A universal-plug (or an adapter)

Many countries around the world use different kinds of wall sockets and if you’re travelling to multiple countries/continents purchasing multiple different adapters and plugs can be annoying. A universal-plug/adapter is an all-in-one plug- it’s definitely worth it for the long run.

7. A portable charger

With technology being at the forefront of today’s society, the battery life of most phones are an issue, particularly when you’re using it throughout the whole day taking endless amounts of photos and videos it’s useful to have a portable charger around to keep

8. Medical kit

A great safety net to have while your travelling, particularly incase of cuts and bruises along your travels. It doesn’t have to be a big one, but the essentials is always good to have on hand
